    Oil Pressure sensor

Hello All. I'm new to the site and to online chats so be patient please. I do need some help. I have an 01 Vette and need some help locating the oil pressure sensor. I thought it would be at the filter but it does not match the new one. The new unit has 3 wires. I'm not sure this is right.

Not sure on yours, but on the F-body is on the drivers side, right behind the intake manifold and screws in vertically.

Easiest way to get to it and get it changed is to remove the intake manifold.

Drivers side in back of the intake manifold. Yes manifold has to come out to get to it. Pus you need the special oil pressure sensor socket. It's the tallest sensor back there. Be sure when you install the new sensor, you route the vacuum hosing properly or you'll break the sensor

Plus one on being careful with the hose seen em "snap" and you don't want that if you have to remove the intake a second time route it the correct way and save yourself in the future!!! Also might want to look into replacing Knock sensors while you are in there and don't forget to use new intake gaskets!!! Little now will save you in the end. Take care.

YOU DO NOT have to remove the intake manifold to change out the oil pressure sending unit. Just crawl your ass on top on the engine and it can be done in less than 15 mins time. YOU DO NEED the correct sender socket. I bought my thin walled socket at NAPA. A regular thickness socket is to thick to get it all the way on.
