no muffler

anyone hear heard a stock ls1 with no muffler. i heard one the other day('00 SS, but he had headers/cam.)so it would sound nothing like mine since i am stock. (it sounded nasty)i loved it. i know alot of it, or i assume, would be the headers/cam. i was thinking about cutting mine off. not sure where to cut it. no muffler=cutout(basically, right?) what are some pros/cons if i were to follow through with this. my car is fairly loud now, but i want it louder.

The downside to it, it is ridiculously loud and law enforcement will most likely ticket you for it.

I did it with my gto i have headers and not cats and i didn't like it at all, way to loud sounded more like a old ford f150 or something it just didn't sound good to me.

You said your car was currently pretty loud. Do you have headers and cats removed, or is your exhaust stock currently?

i have cats removed and flowmaster super 40.

Probably not good. Not quite as bad as longtubes+no cats+loudmouth, buy similar to it.

thats what i dont want. a dump truck or old f150 sound

Randys at 21st and Memorial does great work. Only place I will use for exhaust.

it will sound pretty bad

and it makes baby jesus cry because its ungodly loud

mine is LT's, no cats, ORY, to the back where its Y'd out into 2 12" glasspacks...sounds neat

it literly sounds like a nascar coming lol and i never havent gotten pulled over for it yet haha knock on wood.. i always get alot of comments for it sounding intimadating, haha this one guy said it sounded like it was "going to eat someone" why add the extra weight, backpressure, and reduce your hp ??? you could always just get a cutout too ...

Um... no. extra weight? probably not. Why add it? because your stock exhaust flows like shit. You can get a cut out.... ride around all day with that and tell me it doesnt get annoying.

A good cat back isnt going to weigh you down. Up the HP slightly. Def. up the sound.

Back pressure is almost irrelevant. Get a GOOD cat back, and a y pipe... and a GOOD set of LT headers..... your weight statement goes right out the window.

GOOD header + TD or y pipe + cat back = way better than cut out.
