which NGK plugs??

This is a discussion on which NGK plugs?? within the External Engine forums, part of the LSx Technical Help Section category; i know everyone here uses these plugs so im wondering which one im getting a used LS1 with 40K miles ...

    which NGK plugs??

    i know everyone here uses these plugs so im wondering which one
    im getting a used LS1 with 40K miles put in my trans am because the other one blew...
    here are the different types they have:
    G-power $2.98
    V-Power 1.88
    iridium IX 6.96
    laser series 9.88
    which one is best ??
    also, on another note....where is the oil pump located on the LS1??

    I use TR55's... No Problems. Heard the Iridiums were pretty good as well.
    If you get NOS, switch em to the TR6's...

    If you're just running bolt-ons and stuff, the TR55's will be fine. They come pre-gapped to.

    Well, double-check to make sure they are accurately gapped correctly and also use some anti-seize on the threads.

    I replaced mine with TR-55 and they were all gapped to approximately 0.058 out of the boxes. The manual calls for 0.060 so was close enough for me. Torque to 15.m or 11 lb ft. DO NOT over torque and strip threads. I believe people when they say one blew out but have to also believe it was never properly torqued to start with.

    Not "everyone", I hate ngk's.
    Years ago Porshe suggested graphite as a good antiseize with aluminum heads and I used it with sucess on Corvairs.
