Next on the mod list???
Hello. I’ve had my 2002 Camaro SS for about two months now and I’ve loved every minute of it.
The car already had a few mods when I bought it, however, I’ve gone to work to take care of some of the basics. Here’s my list of current mods:
Weiand Lingenfelter Intake
Hooker Long-tube headers
Y-pipe without cats
Flowmaster Cat-back exhaust
K&N FIPK
Motive 3.90 gears
Custom tune
2-point Shock Strut Tower Brace
2-point Tubular Subframe Connectors (scheduled to be done in the shop next Wednesday)
Ported stock throttle body and bump stop mod (scheduled be done in the shop next Wednesday.
After the shop finishes up with the TB porting and bump stop mod and welds in the SFC’s, I’m really not sure what to do next. I have plans to definitely change the cam in the next 6 – 9 months, might add a better flowing set of heads and have strongly considered tossing on a 100 – 150 shot of nitrous (with ALL of the safety features, of course). In the meantime, are there any other simple bolt-ons that might be worthwhile? The first thing that comes to mind would be a smaller crankshaft pulley….on many cars that can free up as many as 8-10 HP. While it will not add to the cars power, I’d like to pick up a set of Nitto DR’s for driving on the streets….should really help with traction on the street and it shouldn’t be radical enough to tear my stock 10-bolt to shreds! Other than that, I couldn’t really think of much else to do before I move forward on the cam swap. You guys have any thoughts?2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.
1989 Corvette L98, A4, Full bolt ons, etc.

If you're desperate for more bolt-on power, you could always get an electric water pump. Just a thought.

Thanks guys!
No need for an airbox lid, I have the K&N FIPK which does not use a lid.
I think the Nitto's will be worthwhile as traction on the street is definitely an issue.
What's the scoop with the rear end girdle? Does that offer some additional stability for the rear end (increase durability or simply help traction)?

the girdle helps with durability.

Yeah, I know it doesn't flow anywhere as well as some of the others out there, but I love the sound. I'm hesitant to change because I wouldn't want it to sound any different than it does right now (of course, it wouldn't break my heart if my exhaust didn't rattle so bad when I shift at high RPM).

Nittos are not worth while (I have some), get some MT E/T Streets they are much much better...
ASP Underdrive pulley is what I would suggest, good mod for cheap.
Get an electric cutout, you can have full open exhaust with a great sound and shut it when you don't want that much noise.
