New 02 SS..starting mods.
Just picked up an 02 35th SS with 5800 miles on it- I'm ready to dive in to some mods.
First off, I'm planning to go with some Kooks headers. From that point on, I'm a little unsure what to do. I want a DEEP rumble first and foremost. I also want to run the center exhaust option on the rear exit if possible- I realize I may lose some HP on the deal, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for the clean look. I have heard the GMMG exhaust is awesome, and the guys there said they could fab up the rear exit like I want.
Then I guess I need a different airbox, and various other goodies.
Will I also need a tuner/reprogrammer?
I'm not going to race- I just want to be and sound bad-ass. Maybe 375 hp? Probably have to swap intakes and cam? Or can I get there with modded heads?

Are you wanting 375 hp to the ground?
You shouldn't have to change heads to get there. If you already know you want headers, cat back exhaust and possibly a cam, all of that should get you there no problem. I would keep the stock heads and intake manifold, as they'll be fine for what you are asking. Any mild cam would do what you are asking, even the LS6 Hot Cam. Also consider one of the 224/224 cams available.
When changing headers and cam, its probably best to have a dyno tune done rather than rely on a hand-held tuner. A good tuner will get you more power and better drivability with the same parts, and shouldn't cost much more than the hand-held.
