    Need opinions / advice !!!! 2001 ws6 m6.

Ok so I Installed some pacesetter ceramic coated longtube headers and high flow cats with 3in Y. During the install the passenger side header bolt nearest to the firewall broke flush with the engine. We continued with the install and installed everything else fine. Everything fit etc. We used new metal gaskets. Bolts where tightened and everything was done right.

Just wondering if the broken bolt would cause any problems. Headers looked good on both sides , got a good seal. So is evrything gonna be fine? I didn't see any smoke coming from the headers or exhaust fumes.....

Any advice, opinions, experience , input would be appreciated !!!!!

Over time you will start to have a header gasket leak that will lead to gasket failure.

Because of where it broke you will need to take the cylinder head off to be able to get it out.

I got to ask, did it break while tightening the bolts or while loosing the bolts from the old manifolds?

Did you use anti-seize on all the bolts?

Broke while taking the stock manifolds off. No I didn't use antiseize on the new bolts.

I read that the last bolt isn't a big issue??

You should have used some. It helps prevent what happen to the one that broke.

All of them are important in order to get a uniform clamping pressure. between the headers and cylinder head. The engine vibrates the hell out of the headers and over time the bolts have been know to back off a little bit. In about a month you need to go back and check them all.

You may get lucky and not have any issues for a while. But eventually you will have an issue with that gasket.

Agreed 110% SMW. I have Pacesetters, and even got the Stage 8 header bolts. I still have to go back once and a while and tighten them, to keep from having leaks.
