i dont need perf mods yet i dont think... my only competitors are a 03 gt with full exhaust (slow), a 89 supra makin about 280, a bone stock 01 gt, and a bone stock 01 mach 1... so yea, i dont need to be much faster right now lol i just want it to sound more intimidating.

You will get awsome sound from just a muffler if you get the right kind. I know everyone says they hate flowmaster blah blah blah but the fact is flowmaster has always made great sounding mufflers-even if the gains are 2 hp less than others hahaha. Flowmaster also makes a direct replacement muffler for your car.

are you saying that most of the other mufflers will require other pieces or extra labor, etc?

magnaflow and hooker and flowmaster make direct replacement mufflers-sorry-when I first posted that I didnt realize magnaflow and hooker made direct replacement mufflers too. I would go with the magnaflow or hooker over the flowmaster-just my opinion but I am sure the flowmaster sounds good too. You can put one of these on yourself and your car will sound sweet.

When you call just tell them what you want a direct replacement muffler that will bolt right on your car. They will hook you up.

do what i did, save up around a grand, get Pacesetter LT's , Pacesetter ORY, i had a flowmaster before and i just left it on cuz it sounds good, get NGK iridium plugs, msd wires, and if you do all that you'll have all the sound u want, and a good power increase

but like i said its gonna be about 1000 bucks tho, but its worth doing it right the first time imo...

A flowmaster muffler is cheap shit? A catback is just 3" tubing and a muffler.

that cutout is THAT cheap? r u serius? damn... well i will definitely consider that. otherwise i was thinking about jsut welding in a fabbed pipe to replace the exhaust. i could do it in the school shop for free, and only have to pay for the tubing. but then again, the cutout... hmmm...

question about the cutout: if its under the car, and theres no turndown, is it bad to have all that heat under the car? or should i get a turndown exhaust piece on the end of that cutout... how do u do it? just leave it like that little y-cutout-piece?

also... how hard is it to open and close? being that its 0 degrees out, i dont wanna spend a few minutes on the ground under a car thats only a few inches off the ground workin on openin or closing it, u know?

i can vouch that the magnaflow sounds good but it's too QUIET!!!! that's why im putting on lm1 with ory and long tube headers

I have a cutout and it's angled slightly down(but not enough to cause ground clearance problems) and I haven't had any problems. Mine is a little before the rearend, so I can reach down there and take the plate on and off. It's not too hard, sometimes it can be a pain to reach.
