There is a bolt on the heads you must unbolt. The rest is just wiggling the tube out of the base of the engine. It helps to have a buddy wiggle the tube from the bottom while you yank it from the top...

Just wait until you try to re-insert it after the headers... best of luck

    bsteff,

Could I pick your brain when you are done with the install? I will be doing one myself soon.

two people make it easier to put the dipstick back in, one above to hold it and one person under the car to guide it back in the hole.....plus if you drop your starter it will make the job easier

Yea, mine was a PIA to get out, but slid right back in, and my buddie's came right out with no problems, and then he forgot to put it back in when they were done, took it for a test drive, and got oil all over the place

Thanks, that is cool. I am trying to get in touch with a guy on here that is selling a set of Hooker Headers and Y pipe but I haven't heard from him for about a week. I don't even have the parts to start the install but I will be doing it soon. (I hope)
