What do I need to do to clean out my cats? I do mean catalytic converters for those of you who were going to go there.

Its acutally a pain in the butt lol i tried to gut mine and it took me over a hour to get one halfway done with just jamming a metal poll down in it when it was hot . So i said screaw it chopped it off and put a pipe in place which was alot faster and easier. I would just cut them off and weld or clamp in a pipe. I dont know if that what boomer sooner was applying but goodluck

your cats are worth money....don't just gut them out. Either put pipes in their place or find an off road Y pipe and then sell your cats. Chances are you'll break even money wise. I think cats are going for $100-$110 a pair right now.

first 2 things i did to my z when i got it was ditched the cats and swapped out mufflers. i just told the guy at the shop to trash it all.

Cats are worth money right now... I'm thinking over 100 EACH... but I could be wrong... if you don't have Headers you can take the car to a muffler shop and have them taken out. won't be too hard I think they'll do it for around 100 maybe less??? could be wrong but I've had a few friends do it.

i agree with posts above, BUT if you are trying to retain factory look for emissions purposes, take them out, and a long screwdriver and a hammer and some good old sweat to clean them out... now a friend of mine has an 02 WS6, and his only mods are a lid, no cats, and hooker muffler, and tuning and it runs great and he got 32 on the highway with the cruise locked
