sorry this is a bit off topic but i have a question....so I have headers etc, and flowmasters at the rear end.. i was thinking about changing out just the muffler to get the exhaust note louder. Is there anything that is a direct swap for my flowmaster system, its the american thunder , itsa y-pips to dual outlets...i was thinking a muffle with only like one baffle in it or something so its muffled slightly,....thanks guys

What is you complete exhaust system consist of? What do you plan for it further down the road?

I have one of these on my ride and it sounds good.

look maybe into the flowmaster super 44 those sound real nice. i am pretty sure they make a 4" case with dual outlets for these cars' purpose.

i want something that will just be a direct replacement for the muffler that i have now. I would like to keep the header back pipes(welded) and the pipes i have leaving the muffler. I just want a muffler thats less restrictive.

Yes it will. It comes with an adapter to fit your stock mid-pipe. The muffler is a straight through design. The muffler is made from 3" -"409" stainless mandrel bent tubing and perforated tube with stainless steel packing. The casing is made from "304" stainless

and most catbacks are 3" isnt much bigger then stock think stock is 2.5" piping
i am pretty certain that the stock on an lt1 camaro is 3 inch to the muffler. im 99.9 percent sure because i remember my magnaflow being a 3 in dual 2.5 out. yeah. i ordered a 3 inch tail pipe to try a straight pipe on my car. if i like it ill make it center exhaust a find a tip that works well like that on my car.

ewwww.....reminds me of the LM exhaust..... yuck. not a big fan of the realy raspy muffler sound. i love open headers, but when it comes to mufflers, it has to be a little classy. my favorite is definetley magnaflow.

    x2 for the 2.75

9t8z28 you seem like you know a lot about exhaust is there really any gain with a catback vs. muffler back with both systems same muffler on a stock y pipe car? As i have said before it is necked down to smaller then 3" at the end of the y pipe so i do not see how a 3" pipe going to the muffler will help power wise if it is being choked down before that. Am i right?

Have you run straight pipe? Not quite as loud as you would think.
i'm with you 100%, i did it to mine and i love it. when i first had it put on i was thinking man this is gonna be way to loud, and so were the guys at the exhaust shop, but after i drove it up the road it's not that bad at all. now i'm really nervous because when i get the cam/header swap back from the shop (to save money we went with a straight open exhaust from headers back to the tips) it's gonna be way to loud. oh well i'll put something on it if so.
