    Which muffler?

So I decided on just ordering a muffler and some tips instead of an entire catback. Im gunna go with a flowmaster crossflow (i know i know, dont flow the best but nothing beats the sound for the price) with the hooker dual/dual tips. As far as the single inlet/dual outlet muffler, is the stock exhaust 2 1/2 or 3 inch, and which crossflow do I need to order from summit? Theres about 5 to choose from and I dont wanna order the wrong one. Part numbers would help greatly. This is going on my '98 T/A by the way.

Don't get the 80 series, you'll be disappointed with how quiet it is. You need a 3" inlet.

the flow master 80 series crossflow is wonderful in my opinion its not too loud (but it is loud enough for people to hear you from one block away) and not to low it is the best sounding muffler out there in my opinion

you should buy your flowmaster catback exhaust system at a local muffler shop you can find it cheaper especially when you get the high flow catalytic converters

Well I am actually looking for something pretty loud, just not as loud as the slp loudmouth. That exhaust is just noisy with no tone, which I dont care for. I like the hooker, magnaflow, and spintech also; what is everyone's opinion on those? Also, does bassani make a dual outlet muffler? Because those are by far the best sounding mufflers on the market.

Flowmaster robs horsepower. GO with Dynomax or anything other than flowmaster. I just go rid of Flowmaster.

AVOID THE FLOWMASTER AT ALL COSTS.

The Hooker is cheap (not stainless), works and sounds great, but looks like shit.

The Magnaflow is a little more expensive, but it has a polished muffler case and is stainless. It sounds real smooth, and is really wicked with higher rpm and longtubes.

The Borla is, well a Borla. Costs an assload, but you get what you pay for.

GMMG makes an exhaust too, but I put it with Borla.

If I were you, I would get the Magnaflow.

I'm pleased with my Hooker....it doesn't matter how it looks, because its tucked away under the car.

I love my Loud Mouth but gonna but either a Borla or a Dyno max in it to tone it down a little. Too loud with headers and no cats.

i have a flowmaster 40 series (highest flowing muffler they make) and it sounds nice and deep at idle, but really agressive when you step on it, i believe it has a 3 inch inlets with 2 3 inch outlets,

the guy that did mine stepped down my outlets to 2 2.5 inch ones tho, i dont know why, maybe to avoid popping

I have heard nothing but bad about blowmaster - use a potatoe instead.

NOt yet I haven't had it but a couple of weeks and haven't really drove it any. I'm going to put a Borla or Dynomax muffler in place of the resonator. I really like the sound of the Borla.

Lemme know what it sounds like. I love mine at WOT (we have the same setup) and going real slow, but at mid RPM it sounds nasty. I just don't wanna change it out and find out I still don't like it

I went ahead and ordered the hooker aerochamber, dual/dual tips that come with their catback, and an slp air lid. I also did the free ram air mod this morning so I'll let everyone know how it all turns out.

Had the aerochamber and tips installed today, $70 at carx. I would definitely recommend this muffler. Not very loud, but has great tone and sounds really clean. The air lid also opened it up quite a bit, along with making a cool hissing sound when floored. Now for some tires...

My Loudmouth was great until my Longtubes and my new motor. I now have the Magnaflow with no cats, 408 stroker motor and it sounds good. Not too loud but at wot it still has a good sound. Everyone likes something different just listen to sound clips and see what you like.

I have the magnaflow catback and I love it. Has a mean deep rumble with no rasp.
