    Mods hp?

Ok...sorry for the boring how much hp thread but I have searched the forum and can't come up with a good estimate. I am hoping for 10-15rwhp. Sound reasonable?

Here is what I will be doing this weekend:

    FRA mod
    SLP Lid and K&N filter
    ported MAF housing

PS: Havent picked up the filter(50bucks), will this yield enough hp to justify itself?

sounds reasonable.those are some of the first mods i did and i noticed a good seat of the pants feeling.yes the k&n filter is worth it. i descreend and cut the maf halfs and polished it out, shortly after that the car started pinging on the top end. i had a spare maf housing that was just descreened so i put it in the car and it stopped the pinging. i would personally recommend not doing anything to maf housing aside from maybe just polishing it out but thats just mho. good luck!

7-10rwhp sounds about right...especially over the stock system. I noticed a stronger pull up top when I did the fra and a lid. Do a good tune up while you're at it if you haven't already. Wouldn't do anything to the maf if I was you....descreening shouldn't hurt unless a big piece of debris gets in there

I won't buy a K&N, You won't get a gain for the money spent. I could search and give you all the math with surface area formula's. + oil on the mass air. My .02

Well I got the lid on today. Dont really feel much different. Looks nice. I decided against the MAF porting. Holding of on the FRA mod. Still thinking about the K&Nfilter.

You likely won't notice the difference until you do the FRA mod. That will enable your LID to go to work for you.
Oh yeah the Holley "Hole Shot" filter is just as good ( if not better) than the K&N and is cheaper.

When I did a lid and filter, I noticed better throttle response down low more than top end or actual accelleration.

I had my K&N off the first time I put it on the dyno. I did try a dyno pull with no filter at the time and gained less than 5hp. The last dyno we did several pulls two w/o a filter, the highest number in in the sig and was with a Fram paper filter installed. I still have the K&N somewhere in the shed but have no future plans to use it.
