(Mid length vs. long tubes) solid numbers?

Does anyone know how much power i will pick untuned from mid length headers and then how much from longtubes. I was thinking a good 15-20rwhp or so from the mids like macs and 20-25rwhp or so from the longtubes like pacesetters. Anyone have any numbers or best educated guess?

I've always wondered this myself...like how much actual difference is there between mid and long tubes in power?

The stock exhaust manifolds flow pretty well, I would not waste my money on Mid length headers, Maybe a 5 hp difference. If you are going through the hassle Long tubes are the only way to go, you will see a 20-25 hp difference with longtubes.

This is true. Mids are a complete waste of time and money.

Yep if you don't go LTs you'd be better off spending your money on other mods

Yeah I've always heard that...but I'd like to see back to back dyno results after shorties then LTs on the same car with being tuned correctly for each.

I would go with Longtubes myself, I have QTP longtubes and have nothing but positive stuff to say about them. I did pick up the 40 hp and 40trq the quote by on the website. So I am a believer in the Longtubes personally.

Yes 100% correct, When we orginally hooked it up to be dyno to be dyno tuned it was 23 rwhp with just the long tubes on with no dyno tuning. But, you could fully tell it wasn't running 100%. And, I just love the chrome look of headers under the hood and the crisper sound

sweet...I have a buddy with an 02 who did a tune on his car when stock (might have had a K&N and lid) and he went from about 320 to 340...he is likely getting QTP longtubes next and will retune then.

I went with duals, I ran a straight pipe about two feet back off the long tubes and then went with a race muffler with no restrications, and then dumped them right after the axle assembley, basically right at the axle.

Shorties are a waste but Mac mids will make damn close what long tubes do. Whoever said Macs will only gain you 5hp is wrong.
