    Magnamouth

I currently have the SLP Loudmouth II on my '00 Z28. I put quite a few highway miles on my car and the drone/resonance is right in the cruise RPM range. I've been looking at replacing the Loudmouth II muffler with the Magnaflow PN 14419 that folks call the MagnaMouth. I don't have the coin to completely replace the system.

Is it going to noticeably reduce the drone/resonance of the LMII in the cruise range? I know alot of folks say it's an improvement of the resonator of the LMI, but haven't read alot of feedback over the LMII.

    Is Magnaflow pn14419 a direct replacement? It's a 4" x 14" length case, 3" inlet/outlet 20" overall.

    Thanks for your help!

Is the rest of your exhaust stock? or are you running headers without cats. I thought the LMII was not bad with cats.

The rest is currently stock, although I plan on adding headers and a LS6 intake before the spring.

Just saying that when you get headers the drone will go away. When I had my LM1 with stock header's it droned (I liked it though ha) but once I got Header's and ORY the drone is not there and rasp is non-existent. Make sure you get a Y pipe with a GOOD MERGE because it get's rid of rasp and adds HP. If the Y pipe doesn't come with a good merge then get a flowmaster merge welded into the Y pipe you get.

I got the exact opposite! Once I added LT's and an ORY I got soooo much more rasp! Then I added a cam and all hell broke loose, so I changed out the LM1 resonator for a bullet muffler, sounds AMAZING now!

The ORY is the main cause for rasp on these cars. I have zero rasp on mine.

What y-pipe do you have? I'm running the Pacesetter ORY and I had lots of rasp.

Agreed, having cats really cuts down on the rasp. Remove the cats, and you have instant rasp no matter what catback you have. Some catbacks have more rasp than others though.

I have LLP Stainless ORY with come cheap $30 ebay HF cats welded on them. I hardly had rasp with out the cats and then with the cats its completely gone.

As you can see the merge on these are much smoother than most.

You're merge is better than most. When I say good merge I mean like this: http://image.gmhightechperformance.c...er_muffler.jpg
See the smooth transition between the two where the two side straighten out before they come together? This cause's less turbulence that's going throughout the cat-back from there.

Also having a Merge that goes from smaller on both side's and bigger to the mouth(3'' into 4") help's a lot too.
