Magnaflow or LM2?? HELP!!
I will be getting a catback in about 2 weeks (I'm on a tight budget so all I can afford for now is either the Magnaflow or LM2) and I want to hear your opinion on which one to buy. Which one performs better on the dyno?? Basically which ones shows more HP gain on a pretty much stock 2000 Z28 (All i've got is a Lid and a TB bypass). Also I will be getting LTs and an ORY in the future. True Duals are out of the question since I dont want to change the setup. This is my daily driver and will be for a while and I dont want a setup that will get too much attention from cops. Any suggestions?? thanx guys.

LM2 foR a somewhat of a consistant tone not loud as the lm1 but still loud but in a good way. the magnaflow sounds real mellow at regular speeds but at WOT sounds REal real nice but i would sat lm2 myself!

would it be to much to ask someone to make a sticky on the topic of exhaust. And in the stick write about how each exhaust sounds with stock manifolds and then how it sounds with headers. It seems like this question is coming up alot and i also say this because i had a hard time deciding what exhaust to buy for my car.

people kept telling me ls1sounds.com but all you get there is a general idea. You cant really tell how raspy acar sounds and really get the whole idea of how it sounds through a computer...

Thanx for the info fellas...so far looks like im leaning a little towards the magnaflows since i've heard that the LMs can get too raspy with LTs. Any other suggestions would be helpful. thanx

I've got LT's and magnaflow and love the sound. I have heard some with LT's and LM1 and LM2. I think they are a bit too loud, especially when they got on them, very raspy, kind of like a straight pipe sound, not as exteme..

First thing is I'd recommend tossing the LM2 out of the running immediately if you're going to be upgrading to LT's. I got a headache with mine on regular manifolds. I'd go with a Hooker catback personally (It's also in the same price range). The magnaflow can pick up some rasp with headers.
If you're dead set on either magnaflow or LM2....there's really no choice IMO, magnaflow hands down.

LM2, deep constant tone, really deep when you get on it. I just done away with the Borla because of RASP and I love this LM2.

Go with the Magnaflow.
LM2 will sound awful with LT's, the Magnaflow system sounds great on stock manifolds and awesome with LT's.
I have LT's, True duals, and Magnaflow mufflers, and it sounds very nice.

I just bought the LM and I dont like it at all. Way to loud and not even a good sounding loud. I just bought a borla xr-1 to replace the lm resonator deal. Go with the magnaflow you will be very sorry if you go with the LM. I went with it cause of what it sounded like on ls1-sounds but my car sounds nothing like the sound clips.

My duals with Magnaflows turn many heads.
Most don't expect that clean of a sound from the LS1 F-Body's. The firing order is different than your typical SBC which creates a different exhaust note. Aluminum block doesn't help either. Resonates a touch different.
I was finally able to hear my car drive down the street last week....sounded so nice.
