So im changing my air lid, while i was changing it i decided to clean my MAF and saw that the previous ownder descreened it. I have been reading about it and everyone says not to do that. What MAF should i buy?

Descreening it is not totally traumatic as the change in airflow is minimal. As long as they did not de-blade it or port it you may be able to still run it. I found that ours was hacked up pretty bad after we bought the car and we also had an off idle stumble. I ordered a replacement MAF from GM Parts Direct (site sponsor). I found that the current GM LS1 replacement MAF is actually the 85 mm Corvette unit (stock F-body is 78 mm). The entire housing is plastic and it comes with an adapter harness. I installed that and have had not problems since. Pics of that project and the replacement MAF are in this thread: http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113122
