So is it neccessary to put in higher performance spark plug wires when doing putting in the Long Tubes? I heard this is to keep them from burning up?

It's not neccessary, but recommended you put in new plugs while in there because it's that much easier. The plugs won't burn up from installing headers. You might run a little rich after the LT install and that can be corrected by getting a tune.

+1 you don't have too but since you are in there you might as well replace the plugs and wires. More of a good maintaince practice.

MSD plug are supposed to be really good, I installed them when I did my header swap. Also you can bend the boot to keep it from touching the headerand it will stay.
