    ls6 vs fast

how much of a hp diff are we talking on a stock motor? or a head/cam motor? Im just curious if its really worth spending the extra money for the fast setup or are we talkin a couple of hp... which case ill just go w/ the ls6....

On a stock motor, the fast is damn sure not worth the money. With really good flowing heads and good sized cam, it becomes more worth it. If your wanting to save some money and get better mid range and low range power with the same top end, wait till the new weiand intake comes out. It's supposed to be cheaper as well.

Fast intakes have been known to break up pressure, (boost/nitrous)

your better off staying with the ls6 intake.

dont run a FAST if going forced or nitrous as the top shells tend to blow off or into pieces...

as for the guy who asked about the HP difference: here you go. top dyno sheet is heads/cam, Ls6, full exhaust. bottom dyno sheet is the same except with a FAST 90/90 in place of the Ls6...my car is NA...cam is a Comp 224 .581 112lsa (baby cam), heads are Patriot Stage II Ls6 'style' heads (59cc)

29 hp - 4.3 torque - That seems real low gains - Thanks - I was looking at this for my Procharger set up - I'll be looking elsewhere now - Both for lack of gains and Boost problem

that IS 30 rwhp OVER an Ls6 intake on this dyno. my total gains were 35rwhp/10rwtq. i went from 409/386 to 444/395. however i cannot find my dyno sheet from RPM who tuned the car with the numbers being 408/388. i showed the two i did since its the same shop dyno. remember, this IS a little cam...

you are the 1st person (out of hundreds) to say gaining only 30rwhp/10rwtq by going to a FAST 90 over an LS6 is a lack of power increase...

best of luck with your venture...

here is the dyno sheet from RPM who did the retune for the FAST 90. look at the date. same day as when i took it to LG...

Sorry - I was saying more about the manifold for my Procharger than anything.

ok thanks for all the info.... ive got a 2000 trans am w/ full exhaust, lid and stuff and its still got the ls1 intake manifold on it so i was trying to decide what im gonna change it out to. I think the plans for the motor are n/a so i think ill wait a month to see wuts w/ the new weiand street avenger coming out. If not I think ill just go w/ the fast 90/90 setup.

While that would be nice, I have a feeling it'll get pushed back or that actual availability will be later than that. It happens all the time

if you plan on anything over 400 go with the fast, 30 hp is a big difference to me and well worth the money ,that is why i just bought one

ya alright... i figured im either gonna go w/ the fast setup or the new weiand... im curious if they're gonna compare the new weiand closely to the fast setup or if one is gonna have more advantage over the other...
