ls6 manifold + bbk 80mm issue
hey everyone, not sure if this happened to anyone before but this weekend i installed the BBK 80mm throttle body and Ls6 manifold at the same time. no other changes were made.
First problem was that i noticed the part throttle shift points arent the same as they used to be. they happen a little sooner than they used to. I didnt reset the pcm/unplug the battery when i did these mods because I didnt think it was necessary since i did the catback and airlid without disconnecting the battery.
Also, another seperate but less important issue is that when the car is idling, it has a very tiny surge to it like every 5 seconds or so it will idle about 50 rpm higher and then go back to normal. Its so slight that if the radio is on or if you are talking you wont notice it and u can just barely see the tachometer move but the car didnt do that before either...... anyone know wats causing these 2 problems??

Is your can an a4 or m6? It might be that the throttle body just lets in more air than the stock one does, as long as it does not sit there 100rpm-200rpm higher than that would have been the blade that needs adjustment.

I think Crash is on the right track. Your transmission takes input from the IAC and the TPS to determine engine load and shift points among other things.
I'm guessing when you switched your throttle body you either transfer your original sensors or it comes with new ones???? Either way it would stand to reason that possibly a setting has changed and needs to be checked. That's where I would look first.

yea i transferred my old sensors over to the new TB and it still didnt work out. Still wouldnt shift right. I think it has to do with the year because the 98-99 cars like wat i have came with a faster throttlebody cam than the 2000 up ones and the guy i bought the TB from had a 2001 and it worked perfect on his car so im just gonna sell it to someone who has a 2000 up car and either port my stocker or leave it alone.
