is an ls6 intake a good mod
Is an ls6 intake a good intake to put on my 2000 ss? Or is there any other intake that is better? If so what intake and how much better is it? My car is completely stock but I plan to put lts pretty soon and later on cam and heads. If the ls6 intake is good should I port and polish my throttle body or get a different one? Thanks in advance!

yes and porting your throttle body is a good idea as well. Shaner makes a nice piece.

ls6 flows plenty on stock motors. to get the peak numbers out of heads/cam set up you might wanna go with a fast 92 set up if you have the coin. very pricey compared to a new or used ls6 intake. ported/polished tb will work well with ls6.

How big should I port the tb? Should I port the intake too or is it big enough as it is?
The reason I'm asking is because I might trade my ss wheels for an intake that came off an ls6

i wouldnt worry about porting your TB ..get more mods ..since chances are you will move to a fast set up if you continue to mod your car.

So will a fast setup flow a lot better than an ls6 and a ported tb? Because I've read somewhere on this sight something about them flowing about the same

The fast combo really shines in cammed cars and will give you a good bump in hp over the ls6

you need a cam first to warrant a fast intake...the fast 90 and 92 are hard to find anymore..so the 102mm lsxr is about it
