    ls6 intake?

My brother is thinking about buying a ls6 intake to start the modding process on his basically stock 98z28.

just wondering how difficult it would be to install the intake, and what steps/precautions go along with the install?

also, where would be a good place to buy a used one?

    thanks guys.

Im putting on mine next week. A good link for directions is LS1howto.com . As far as used ones are concerned I would make a thread on this site. I know a kid was selling one for the last 3 weeks for $325 ( a good price) Just look threw the threads youll find it. Good luck!

well i found a ls6 intake on ebay for about $300, which seems like a good deal, but how do i know that it is an ls6 and not an ls1? it looks identical. any certain line of code i should look for? this is the intake...

88894339 is the new PN for 01/02 F-body LS6. 12573572 is an older PN for the Z06 LS6. Don't know if they're completely interchangeable? Be sure before purchasing.

its an ls6 manifold of a z06...as said before there is a different part number for the the one that came on the last year camaro's and the ones off the actual zo6's. the mechanic at CARTEK in GARWOOD NJ told me it would fit just fine... they are an ls1 specialty shop thats all they do is ls1 ls2 and ls6.

Its a good mod to do. The absolute best advice anyone will give you, unplug the brake booster hose from the master cylinder so you don't break the oil pressure sensor. Don't ask me how I know, it took me 2 times to learn it, but just heed my advice

It is not a hard install, shouldn't take any longer than 2 hours if you are a novice, bout an hour if you really are experienced. Be prepared for your wrists and forearms to be seriously scratched and cut up from the cowl though.
