    1999 Camaro SS

    ls6 intake

    so i have a 1999 camaro ss with american racing headers ,slp loud mouth .lid ang a p.p throttle body. My buddy is selling his ls6 intake and im thinking of buying it but idk if i should cancel out my egr and but an ugly cap on my headers or buy the part from lingenfelter and tap the egr into the intake? in goin to dyno tune the car when im finished what do u think i should do? thanks

    An ls-6 intake will gain you some power up top and it will clean up the engine bay by getting rid of that egr solenoid. you would be lucky to see 8rwhp from the intake, if I had to do it over again I would have put a baby cam in for the money. 20rwhp vs 8-10 hp, just the cam takes alot more work to do, you can't go wrong either way.

    I have nearly the same setup as you.... DITCH THE EGR.... No point, and it'll clean a lot of that crap out. And you will definitely see some awesome gains from an LS6 compared to the stock LS1, well worth the $$$. And it's an easy install IF you know what you're doing.

    another thought- -my egr tubing has cracked, and i've seen others crack. deleting it is solution to this before it happens.

    only buy it if your friend is selling it for cheap, otherwise get a cam.
