Usually temp and or the weep hole. (Weep hole is were it leaks to know its going out) If yours has any of those symptoms then its on its way out Don't know the cost but I have one for sale with 10,000 miles on it if you find out you need it. I got it for a backup but I am going electric water pump when I replace mine.

The Meziere water pump is supposed to give you something like 15hp and its around $500. There not bad to install. Couple hours maybe.

Meziere makes two different pumps. One with 35gph,one with 55.The 35 has no thermostat housing mount and is $150 cheaper.Just a thought if you dont need a themo.

i have seen the gains to be 5 hp. didnt think it was really worth it since my battery had been messing with me lately anyway. just spent 140 shipped on ebay. well see how it works out. also got the 160 thermo.

The Mezeire pump works well with an underdrive. Just don't expect it to last forever.

A few grunts and growls and you can do it yourself, pull your airbox all the way back to the throttle body, drain the radiator, remove 4 hoses, 6 bolts, and it's off. Not as scary as it seems..

If I can do most of it from a wheelchair, you'll be fine. I'll do it for $100 LOL!

I will forever stay away from Duralast. My OE pump lasted me until 110,000 miles. But 1 year and 7 months, and 9,000 miles after changing it, the piece of crap remanufactured pump is starting to go out. From your experiences, what is the most reliable non electric pump?

id say go with the ac delco.

theyre not too bad, a lil hard cause its a long stretch over the front end.... i have done about three now off trucks and it about the same setup... airbox, serp. belt, hoses, and bout half a dozen bolts and holy cow, thats it... MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE GASKET SURFACE, AND CONSIDER PUTTING A NEW THERMOSTAT IF ITS BEEN A LONG TIME OR ORIGINAL
