    Has anyone ever ported the stock intake and throttle body?

    My buddy is a machinist, was gona have him do it but i dont know how much to have him bore it out

    In mine, they made the opening bigger so the edge almost came to a point and tapered in to the butterfly, they mostly get rid of the bump that is like a half inch in front of the butterfly and stop right before (maybe 1/16) the butterfly so you dont have sealing issues. they then also do they stop modification, http://www.installuniversity.com/ins..._bump_stop.htm

    Porting the stock TB is a common mod. Most upgrade to an LS6 or aftermarket intake rather than port the LS1 intake.

    You can do it for a few extra hp, but if you've got it apart you might as well throw a better intake and tb on. You'll get more performance out of upgrading.

    Agree! No sence pissin' around with time in modding an old set up for maybe a couple ponies not a bad thing tho. Of course if your strapped for cash and have no other options..

    +1. Its best to just upgrade if you can. Ported TB or intake is not the worst option, especially if you cant fork out cash on a newer, bigger TB. but if youre looking to upgrade for big ponies, well you know the rest.
