Ok then, is the HP and tq mumbers the same across the board from 98-02 for the WS6?? And i know the vette is a ls1 but why does the f-body ls1 have about 30 hp less??

Well it depends on what vette your refering too, I mean if your talkin 01 02 ish they came with different block, heads, cam etc. They came with the whole ls6 deal. 01 and 02 ls1's came with the ls6 intake, it was a "easier way for gm too manufacture bc they came with injectors and harness and all that good stuff"

GM used LS6 blocks in certain 01-02 LS1's with the 241 heads instead of the LS6 243 heads like bene and sunsetorangess said.
LS1 Heads
12559853 (1997-98)
12559853 (1999-00)
12564241 (2001-03)
LS6 Head
12564243 (2001 +)
Here are the different cam specs:

Throttle Body Information:
A 98-99 TB has a brown spring on it and a smaller throttle cam, GM Part# 17113390.
A 2000-2002 TB has a blue spring on it and it has the biggest throttle cam, GM Part# 17113647.
A Truck TB has a orange spring on it and a cam that is close to the 98-99 F-body ones but it's not an exact fit.
The difference in horsepower comes from compression ratio and camshaft.
I've got a link on my computer at home that explains all of the details.

LS6 manifold on Ls1 engine, you just have to modify the EGR connection; some cutting involved. Other than that, an easy 10-15 HP added.
The gold connection is where the modification is done.

The ram air makes the HP difference with the LS6 manifold.

I thought that would raise some eyebrow's! LOL That's what the salesman told me when I bought my 2002 WS6.
Reality the difference is almost nil. When the LS6 intake was added, a new cam profile was added to remove the EGR. The cam actually raised the low end torque 10 ft lbs and the horsepower pretty well stayed within 5. The LS6 intake does flow better so with a combo of ram and a good cam, HP is a tad better.
BTW, Here's my WS6 with my truck before I lowered it.
