    LS1 to BBK Intake manifold

Has anyone gone from an ls1 to a bbk? When you turn the car off after a long drive how hot does the intake actually get? I am looking to pull the triger on this one.

Well I have the PP 96mm typhoon intake, not the bbk, its not quite installed yet but should be later today. So tomorrow I should definitely be able to give you feedback on that.

Yeah let me know. I really like how the bbk looks vs the ls1/ls6 stockish look.

I just installed a BBK in my a few weeks back. I love it. It does get pretty warm after a decent drive. You can put you hand on it after a long drive and hold it there without getting burned. Not so much that I would worry about it. The air passes through the intake so fast under hard acceleration that the air doesn't have time to heat up. Besides the air ends up passing through a hot set of heads into a hot engine block anyway. I like the way it looks, definitely seems to pull harder up top and installed easily. Here are some pics.

The BBK SSI is a nice intake, just make sure to put loctite (blue) on all the bolts for the removable floor plate, otherwise they'll loosen up.

I might buy the bbk w/ the tb. The bbk tb wouldnt have to be ported on a stock car right?

No need to port it on a stock car. Already 2-5 mm bigger than stock. If you go with the BBK.

I also have to keep the EGR due to emissions testings so this intake may be my best bet.

I've been looking at it is a future upgrade. It looks like a decent part from pictures.
If it is as good as their headers than it should perform just fine.

I just dont like how heavy it is (24 lbs). The ls1/ls6 intakes are only 9 lbs.

I see your point. you usually want to remove weight from the front.

I guess nothing is perfect though. The new F.a.s.t 102's are around 1,400 with the new fuel rails and tb.

Ok guys last question. Which would be less money/trouble

    A. Buying a new BBK/SSI with their 85 TB.

    OR

    B. Buy a used LS6/Port the TB and delete all the EGR and tuning it out.

Cost would include parts and labor because I dont have time to do the install because of school.

I found a few fast 90's but I am not sure if I would need different fuel rails?
