I had SLP headers, SLP hi-flow cats, SLP y-pipe, and SLP Loudmouth.

Sounded like poop anywhere in the RPM's but idle. Didn't take long before I changed systems.
    Just one guys opinion though.

Thanks man yeah with what i have it definately sounds like a good purchase. Already have one tune done by wait4me and was very happy with it so after i get the exhaust we will see what he can do.

Wasn't the loud that was the problem.

It sounded like crap with all that rasp. Wasn't a good V8 sound by any means.

That all depends on who you are. Some people like it, some don't.

Loudmouth with headers sounds like pure sex idleing and at WOT, but in between it has a sound to it that most people just don't care for. Here's a little clip

I had to go with a magnaflow after headers could not deal with the loudmouth.
Yet it was ok with stock.
What do you think the lm would sound like with long tubes and cats? I have the magnaflow and long tubes and sometimes i think its not loud enough. Thingking on trying another catback.

I read hear that cats do quiet it down some. (little)? I like it to sound loud also. But the loudmouth on my car was louder with out cats but the sound was for shit. I am also 46 years old and like the old muscle car sound from the late 60s/70s The magnaflow sounds good driving and gets loud at WOT but I wish it was a little louder at idle. Some guys tell me that the manaflow will get louder with time.
Check out hooker aero flow. I was told these are good.

Most mufflers will start to get carbon built up on the inside of them.
Thus making them a touch louder after time. Not a huge difference though...most of the time.

and now that i've heard it, it's worse than open headers.... haha

i was the same way..bought LM exhaust and later decided to put LT headers on..and wow, way too loud and too raspy.

i put cat's in the y-pipe for smog reasons, and that helped quiet it down a lot. then i went and bought a hooker aero chamber muffler and took it to a muffler shop and had them weld in the muffler.

i don't know why people pay 300 bucks for another cat-back when you can buy a muffler for 90 bucks and pay an exhaust shop to weld it in. the only mod they had to do was make a new intermediate pipe and cut the 2 outlet pipes to the rear of the car and it's done. total cost was like 150 bucks for everything..so you actually save 150+ by not buying a new cat-back..

never really did understand that one..having a LM exhaust is not an end all situation where you have to ditch it, just have to modify it!

    just my .02
