The 40 series only flow about 400cfm or so. That's less air than my 180 horse 350 puts out... Not good at all. The 80 series isn't the only bad flowing one.

run duals and you double the flow, or jump up a size in pipe.
I'm running 3" true duals and have enough flow for a hell of a big block

800 cfm isn't enough for a decent lsx at wot. And even with different inlet sizes the internal baffles are the same I believe.

What size and location inlet/outlet are you talking about?

My brother-in-law had a 90GT with a 460rwhp blown 306. That car picked up 6rwhp with the cutouts open on his dual 2.5" Flowmaster 40 setup.

If you want single chambers go for the "flowsound" or "flowmonster" single chambers. They are $40 a piece instead of paying for expensive flowmasters that are the same thing

I think I already said that for one case size and design the internals are all the same. If not, then there ^

So you're saying that a 2" offset inlet/outlet will flow the same as a 3" center inlet/outlet because the internals are the same?!

Any one muffler series with a certain case thickness (they make thicker race versions of the street mufflers and single chambers, check their website) is the same inside despite the inlet/outlet
oh, of course the 2" pipe won't be as good. I mean the internal baffles flow/are shaped the same

I understand the case size and baffle design. Again, are you saying that inlet/outlet size and location (given same case size and baffling) has no impact on muffler flow?

This is the only real video clips I have...

Sorry for the poor sound quality, these were taken on a digital camera on a typical windy Oklahoma day....

I will need more than a port and polish by the time I get around to doing it....got 176k on the clock. She's parked for a while except weekends, but I don't think I'll be able to do anything without a fresh rebuild, or at least a complete top end makeover....probably about time to replace rod bearings too, I hear they are LS1 enders this far down the mileage road....

My wife thinks it may be better in the long run to just pay the car off and buy a totally new drivetrain: crate motor, new tranny/rebuild mine, new rear, etc. I like the way she thinks
