    LM1 Exhaust question

I know I may be going in the opposite direction of most here, but if I were to go from the LM1 to a 2.5" TD system with bullet style mufflers (not sure which ones yet), would the TD system be quieter then the LM? I know the sound itself will change, but how about the loudness of the system?

    Thanks a lot,
    Chris

Depends, which route your gonna go, dumped befor the axle will be alot louder, or out the back, lil bit quieter but very pricey. It will be less raspy and have more of a old school mustle car sound but it also depends on which bullett muffler you go with.

True-duals dumped with 2 LM shotgun resonators would be so freakin loud. That would be sweet. Someone should do that.

On to the original post, like said above, really depends on the bullet mufflers you go with. The sweet thunder mufflers would be louder than the magnaflow ones.

Thanks guys. I was planning on doing it all the way out the back. I know it's pricey, but I don't plan on doing too much else to the car (at least in the near future).

Anyone have any suggestions on a "quiet" muffler? Something that I can hear, but isn't going to get me pulled over constantly?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Magnaflow is a bit milder than some of the other ones.

I retained my LM1, just cut the tips of about a foot under the bumper and put 2.5in turndown tips on it. A lot of people thought i didn't have LM anymore.

A lot of guys like the Flowmaster Aero 1-Chamber race style mufflers. They have virtually no restriction, sounds great, and should be slightly quieter than bullets.

I had true duals out the back on my 97 w/ bullit muffs and it was not as loud as a Loudmouth at idle. Even at wide open, it was close but not as loud.
