I went back to paper long ago.

There was a test floating around and it showed for the ISO filtration test, the K&N was by far the worst filter you can use by a mere 1000%.

I'll see if I can find the link but I think the guy took his page down after being threatened by K&N.

Yup...there are a few independent test floating around the internet.
The AEM and the Amsoil filters kick the crap out of K&N in both flow and filtration....and with no oiling.....I hesitate to put up AEM or Amsoil test as that comes across as pimping and I'm just trying to share my personal preferences and experiance. My Amsoil filter works very well....

Hell I ran KN's damn near the day they came out with no problems. These new synthetic dry filters are just the "next" generation. I run radial tires and use synthetic oil also

When I had my K&N on I did oil analysis and the dirt and wear levels were astronomical until I put the paper filter back in. That was enough for me to NEVER use a K&N again.

There's more than enough evidence out there to show that K&N air filters filter like poo. There's no evidence anywhere to show any gains (track or dyno) so I don't know why people use em.

Cuz it saves me money in having to buy a filter every so often. From the constant cleaning I have to do, Id say I saved a bunch of money.

An FTRA makes it even worse. But go ahead and spend away.

You can buy about 8 paper filters for the price of a K&N and the cleaning kit. I had a K&N and I've got FRA. Cleaning those things are a drag. Clean away.

    +1

Not to mention the recharge kit cost and the time/effort to clean it. With a paper one I just toss and replace!

i'm gonna try the amsoil filter...flows and filters better then k&n and for cleaning all you do is vacuum it from the dirty side or blow air from the clean side....sounds good to me

I don't see the difference in these versus dry kn filter. [ other than shape ]
