K&N 57 Series FIPK vs SLP vs ?

Ok... I'm considering the K&N FIPK and the SLP Cold Air Pak. They're about the same in price. Does anyone see an advantage to one over the other? Or, do I do neither and just get a lid, which is a couple hundred cheaper?

Just get a lid and spend your money on something else.

Thanks! I'll get a lid and spend the $200 on beer.

You could always toss a K&N filter in there while you are at it and spend the other 150 on beer

You like the K&N better than the SLP thingie? I have a K&N in my suburban, made a detectable difference in gas mileage. Of course, I don't really care about mileage in the Z-28 (although it's markedly better than the 'burb).

I threw a K&N filter in the SLP lid at the time of install and noticed a difference in power and mileage just not sure if it was all lid or not. I've had pretty good luck with K&N filters on all my vehicles except my bikes.

Put the SLP lid and K&N filter on today. Getting that sensor out, then in was a BITCH! Having the lid ALL the way back was the key to getting it to fit right. Thanks to all the threads explaining that detail! Made my life easier knowing ahead of time how to tinker with it.

Is is psychological, or can I really feel it at the stop light derby? Doesn't matter.... Left a kid in a ricer sit, which makes me happy...
