A tune is not required with LT/ORY. I ran mine over 3.5 years without the tune, only problem I had was the SES light. I would recommend Frost for a mail order tune, but these cars are self tuning to an extent. I was up 1-2 MPG highway, and I also trapped 3 MPH faster in the 1/4, 10 months after my Hooker LT/ORY was installed, and before the tune this spring.
A mail order tune will bring out the best in any F-body car, not just one that has exhaust mods.
So, yes, you can drive your car just fine and get the tune done at your leisure.

I thought if your ses light turned on for the rear O2 than it made the car run on open loop making it so your not getting full power.

The above link will take you to Frost site.
A tune is not necessary after a long tube install, but it is beneficial.

It won't run open loop with rear O2s missing/deleted. It will run open loop with front O2s missing.
I should add that some headers have an internal coating that can foul the O2 sensors, so one might want to put new, quality O2 sensors in after the headers have broken in (~500 miles or so), but I have my OE sensors and they respond from .055-.950 mV still, no problems and no shift.

do you have any other mods planned in the near future and is your car and auto or manual? Either way for the $125 you can't beat a frost mail order. If you were planning more mods in the near future though I'd probably wait until you do those then have him tune for them....that way you don't do work twice.
