    copper gaskets used to be the way to go. The stock GM gaskets are a pretty darn good gasket though so even reusing your old ones is an option. I would probably just use the copper gaskets if that's what you have already although I did buy new GM gaskets when I did mine. They're cheap and there's no doubt they'll be fine is why I bought new.

    not unless they're the 2 ply like the stockers are but I'm sure they'd work fine.....they did for years and years.

    Use the gm ones. I'd re-use old stockers before any aftermarket ones.

    if you go with aftermarket get percy's dead soft header and collector gaskets. my brother has them on his 71 pickup and they never have leaked in almost 2 years. he had the stock ones that came with the headers first and they didnt last about a month. also my buddy has them on his cobra and has no problems

    i dont need collector gaskets,mine is the slip fit ypipe and these copper gaskets are double layer and they look very similar to the factory one.thanx for the advice though!

    I personally would just use the copper gaskets then.

    My friend tried Percys on his brand new Kooks, leaked like a biatch. Used a used stocker and all was fine.
