If by quality you mean durability then the BBK is way higher quality considering that its aluminum and not plastic. I didnít notice any lack of quality in mine at all. Maybe you should check one out in person before forming an opinion, I "hear" lots of things and most of it is BS. The only negative thing you will ever hear about the BBK is that its aluminum and can suffer from heat soak but even that is mainly speculation and not really proven to be a problem with them.

I have pace setter long tubes, off road y-pipe, bullet muffler that dumps before the axle, slp lid, k&n, ported stock throttle body, asp under drive crank pulley, and thats it for performance mods. This is all with the stock LS1 intake also.

How much more did it dyno with just the intake if you donít mind me asking. Iím swapping in a BBK with a 85mm TB from an LS1 with a stock ported TB.

I knw that ls6 is better than bbk
But since I have 00 ss and I'm in Cali I need to get the bbk cuz it has the EGR provisions
And I also kne that FAST is the best one
But I can't afford that. To much
You can get the LS6 intakes with EGR provisions to pass emissions.

What Bill says here is what the issue is. It's not that it causes a drivability issue, they just get hotter and stay hot for a longer period than a composite intake. And we all know hot intakes rob horsepower. That's the reason alot of guys prefer to stay away from the aluminum.

True but the air flows through it for only a fraction of a sec and with the addition of cold nitrous I donít think that I will have a problem with this what so ever.

Doesn't matter how fast the air flows through it, it heats the air. On a naturally aspirated motor it robs HP. On a track car, icing the intake down between rounds it wouldn't be an issue. Street driving, sitting in traffic, shutting it down and heat soaking, that's a whole different animal.

Now that you mention Nitrous (or maybe you did earlier and I didn't catch it) then the heated intake doesn't make any difference once you spray it.

Yeah I hear ya. I mentioned it i n the first response I think. Thatís the whole reason I got it. It also has a pressure burst plate underneath it incase of a nasty backfire so nothing gets hurt. For my setup its perfect but I can def see for a NA setup it may be a problem.

I'm running one in my 04 GTO and had to cut a hole and run a hood scoop...on an F-body you need to take a big notch out of the cowl.
I agree it is a good intake but a lot of work to get it to fit a Fbody.

All depends on how much money and brain damage you want to do. A ls6 is a nice upgrade for you. The fast are expensive, the pro flo you need to modify a lot, and I have no clue about the bbk, etc...
