    intake manifold questions

Thinking of getting a LS6 intake manifold or a BBK intake manifold. Wondering what i need to do to replace, and which is better also if i need bigger injectors:
    I got a 2000 Z28 Ls1 6 speed
    BBk 80mm throttle body
    SLP air box lid
    K&n filter
    removed screen in maf sensor
    gmpp hot cam
    ls6 springs
    comp push rods
    cat deletes
    magnaflow exhaust

For the LS6 you need the coolant lines. The BBK intake makes a tiny bit more power but its a metal intake that weighs about 15 lbs more than the LS6 manifold. There is also alot of debate that the BBK heat soaks.

only thing I would suggest is put in new knock sensors and maybe think about the LS6 VCT mod with a catch can.

I got my knock sensors turned off, still thinking about the doing the ls6 valley tray but i'm a tight ass and don't do any drag racing with it, just the occasional mustang i meet on the street. Been thinking about getting it dyno'd so i wanted to get that put in before, i was also going to do 2 point subframe connectors.

SFCs are a definite must. Our car flex a lot. Even if you don't race you can still get those dimples on the rear QP that shows you have flexed the body.

Why would you turn off your KS? I suggest them because they have been there for 11-12 yrs they are going to go sometime, might as well replace it now while you are doing the VCT then have to repeat all the work later.

The VCT is a worth while mod IMHO, gets rid of the crappy PCV system that was installed from the factory. I ranked it in my top 3 favorite mods I've done so far to my car. No performance gain but more of a value gain. The VCT cost about $57, the PCV tubing cost as low as $89 as high as $140 all depending on where you get it from. There are some here that say it's a waste of time and that's there opinion. I just have a different one and can see it's worth in doing.

Question: My WS6 runs fine but it has 95k on it and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and rebuild the fuel injectors.

i wouldn't mess with them unless something goes out. I have 135k on mine and have quite few bolt ons and still not mess with the injectors.

    Cool

Maybe I should have said serviced. Put the injectors on a flow test bench to test fuel flow and test the spray pattern and make sure all of them are operating exactly the same. If needed, the pintles are replaced along with gaskets or O rings ect. they are disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. I am concerned because the gas mileage has dropped substantially. Thanks.

    Thanks for the info...

My engine and build require a particular quad spray pattern for my multi valve heads..

When i put the cam in the sensor went off you the guy that tuned it turned it off, all it does from what i was told was it tells you if the engine if missing. I was wondering it you had a link to the vct mod or if that was just the replacement of the valley tray.

    Sorry what?!?

All I got was a question about the VCT mod. Can you clarify please?

I just abbreviate the Valley Cover tray mod to VCT. It gets old typing it all out all the time.

here is a sticky that explains the LS6VCT mod.

I believe the cam sensor does more than that. Knock sensors will tell you of a miss or detonation...

someone correct me if im wrong
