intake lid 02 firebird

does putting washers to raise the intake lid do basically the same thing as a whisper lid...if so how high should i raise it

A lid replaces the whole stock air assembly which is restrictive...so no, raising the stock setup isn't the same thing as a lid.

I wouldn't think so...you might have some hood clearance issues though.

Just buy a lid. There cheap and well worth it.
