installing headers
ok, so im new to this performance mods, and im young, but i know alot for my age... well i have an 02' z28 camaro, and i was wanting to put headers and true duals on, but i didnt know that you had to drop the engine out of the car to do so... if there is any way to do it without droping the engine, could someone tell me? thanks.

You don't have to drop the engine to put headers on an LS1 fbody. Its not hard at all to do. Expect 6-8 hours labor time with a buddy. Change your plugs and wires while you are at it as well.

6-Ton jack stands are your friend in your situation. The key is to have enough height of the car to work them in from the bottom.
And yes do all usual maintenance while manifolds are off.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Don't know who told you to drop the engine, but don't get advice from them anymore! haha. A header install is very simple! Just get the car up as high a you can (safely) and slide them up from underneath with a friend helping you pull them up and align them from the top. Don't forget to put in new exhaust manifold gaskets. And like Y2K said, replace plugs and wires while your doing this. Have fun!

Pewter Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6 D1SC
It does take some time but is not all that complicated. If you could possibly use a lift, do it! Me and a buddy did his LT install in my garage and it was hard to get the car high enough. Im definitely gonna us a lift for mine. BTW, use the factory metal gaskets, they are said to be just as good as any others.

i put my lt's on in 2 hours with a lift the install in my opinion was a breeze but a lift makes a world a difference good luck.... i also used my factory gaskets, just cleaned them, up alittle bit with so emry cloth to achieve a good seal, guy i ordered my headers from said to use my factory gaskets cause the ones they shipped with them were a joke i did a 5k later still no leaks or anything....

off of summit or from pacesetter themselves, if you get non coated dont pay over 300 or your getting ripped as with the ceramic coated nothing touching 400-before tax that is.

Im going to have to say Kooks are the best. its what is one all of the GMMG supercars and I have them.
I did have a set of coated Hooker Headers and they lastest for 4 years and I sold them and they were still in great shape! but if you get headers get the coated ones! they will last much longer!
