I haven't had a tune, over 2 years now, no bogging or any other issues. Maybe I am not a typical result, but don't think so. Like I said, faster MPH at the track, quicker ETs, and better gas MPG.

Yes you should have the car tuned after the header install, but you should get any car custom tuned anyway.

paying extra to splice what wires? if your talking about the o2 sensors, just get the extensions for like 20 bucks.

+1 on the o2 extensions. ok,i just got my pacesetter lt headers and y-pipe,i have a friend with a lift, but there is this local guy that is supposed to be a specialist with ls1 f-body cars,i called him and he said 50 bucks for a tune to disable the back o2s(i got the cat-free y-pipe)and $400 to install the headers,so should i let him do it or get off my lazy ass and do it my self?

Do it yourself if you have good basic tool skills. Consider: using a lift $400/8 hours max=$50 per hour for your trouble... not bad. Plus it is fun to do these things to your own car because you KNOW they are done correctly.

I have a 2001 WS6 and just did my header install along with a spec clutch and built tranny install.....the headers took 3 times as long as the clutch and tranny to be al put together, it was a nightmare...they were pacesetters and I took about 3 days painstakingly prepping and primer and painting them with VHT and there was no choice but to just push them up from the bottom and scrape the hell out of them, I didnt even have my tranny in either

I won't say mine really bogged down, but I gained alot of throttle response with my tune after the headers and exhaust. I drove mine for about 6 months before we tuned it

What was your difference in e.t.'s after the header install and before and after tune? Will you pick up any in the 1/8 mile?
