ignition packs?
do they have a particular order which they must sit, reason i ask is i went from a perimeter bolt valve cover to a centerbolt and im wondering if that can be causing the surge and causing the car to turn off

Where they are bolted doesnt matter, a coil pack is a coil pack, the computer doesnt know the difference. As long as you have the correct harness going to the correct pack then the correct wire going to the correct plug then you should be fine...

that just might be it the plugs might be crossed, but then that should throw a code no codes though

They are numbered... 1/8 , which is either # 1 or # 8... Depending on which side you're on.
