Hi:
Ive got a 98 z28 and im thinking bout getting some glasspacks. i bought the car with a magnaflow muffler on it, but all the piping is stock- its got a kind of bubbly sound to it that just isnt agressive enough for me. im thinking bout getting rid of all the stock piping and running 3inch true duals from the exhaust manifolds into some cats then into the packs. I want a sharp growl and its necessary for the car to smog. Am i going in the right direction? suggestions?

I dont really like that sound too much. Get a custom mandrel bent TD set up or go with the TSP TD's. Your gonna need a decent Long tube header to really get the sound you want. Here is my setup.

Custom 3.5 inch exhaust threw a spin tech muffler.

It has a nice sound at idle, at wot it absolutely screams though. It is loud as hell!

I dont think it has cats either, glasspacks kinda have a bubly sound also in my opinion. Im running LTs X pipe along flowmaster 1 chambers. Has the old school chamberd sound of a muscle car.

Also the car in that vid you linked is a 95, your LS1 won't sound like that even with the glasspacks.

i also wanna go with glasspacks cuz their cheap...i aint tryin to spend $700 on another y pipe. so i guess wat im really asking is does anyone hav a vid of an ls1 runnin catted packs?
