    A.I.R. tube on headers?

On my 92 bird the headers have the A.I.R. tubes on them. what are they for? I want a set of long tubes but no one makes long tunes with the A.I.R. Do i need then or can i say screw it and go ahead and put the long tubes on with out any problems? Cause otherwise im stuck with the shorty headers. Thanks in advance. Phil

The AIR is just a part of the emissions equipment. I took it off my ls1. Im not too familiar with 3rd gens so I don't know how the system is tied into the computer. Ask around on some other boards and see what they do.

I don't have to deal with emissions where I live. I wouldnt pass anyway though because I have LTs and an ORY.

The 01-02 ls1s didnt come with EGR or AIR from the factory so it cant be that effective.

A lot of it depends how strict they are with emissions though. If they arent very strict about it Im sure you can get away with LTs as long as you have cats and no SES lights. Many ls1s pass emissions with LTs and a catted y-pipe. On the same hand Im comparing a completely different car to yours. Like I said, try to find a 3rd gen board and see what they're doing.
