    How will this setup sound/perform?

1994 z28, m6. here's what i'm thinking: hooker lt headers, 2.5" true duals, no cats, dual electric cutouts "x brand" of exhaust.

here's what i want: F**KING LOUD! right now i'm running total stock, with a cutout before the muffler. not loud enough. BUT, i don't want it to sound like crap. i'll run high flow cats if removing them will cause it to sound bad or perform any worse.

i don't know what mufflers i want. i want something with decent power, decent sound, but QUITE. i will use it only when droning on the interstate, cruising while talking, passing cops, etc. i know magnaflow is good, but i think it would be too loud.

    thanks for any help.

I am running Pacesetter LT's and TSP true duals "x"pipe with Sweet thunder mufflers that dump before the axle, pretty docile at idle and driving but scream at WOT. Not too sure on a quiet muffler really. ........hmmmm......that was a good question, I honestly dont know of a for sure quiet muffler that doesnt restrict flow real bad. But then again I guess it wouldnt matter if you had dual electric cut-outs that you could open on demand.

I have a different set-up now but when I was basically stock, I gutted my cats and completely removed the muffler just fabricated pipe to replace, sounded mean as heel, however that was before my long tubes I really don't know if that would have enough back pressure with the headers, but hey it is cheap to try first oh you'll need the off-road o2 sensor at the cats so you don't throw a code.

Hell not heel, oh and I have heard some say gutting the cats doesn't help performance and that is bullshit, at least with a stock set-up with only airlid and ported MAF and T.B. it helped.
