    How important is a tune...

After you have installed LTs, Y-pipie, and CAT back. I am thinking of buy these things in the next month or so, but that would kill my mod money. Could I go 2-4 weeks of driving it without the tune or would it run like crap.

Also what would you recommend for the above. I am thinking Pacesetters LT for sure but have no idea about the Y-pipe (needs to be catted) or exhaust.

No, you don't need a tune. You will be running a little rich(er) than normal, but shouldn't be anything too severe. Without a tune, there will still be power left on the table, but it will definately still be driveable.

And Pacesetter makes a catted Y-pipe for the LS1 applications. So that shouldn't be a problem either.

I've heard the pacesetter Y is poorly made. TSP makes a y-pipe for use with the pacesetters.

its a y pipe....pretty hard to screw up. the pacesetter one is fine, so is the texas speed piece.

youll be fine without a tune.....anything after this though and you need the tune if its changing a/f ratios(cam, heads, intake).....

importance of a tune is basically this...

having a car that's fun, drivable, and performs like it should, OR having a 3400 pound paper weight, cause something craps out as the result of a poor tune or no tune at all...

You should have your tune checked every time you do a mod that affects intake, or exhaust. No, you don't have to, but you will get the full benefit of your mod if you retune.

just look at all the header post more then half runs pacesterrs and love them, great clearence too, but

yea i agree you will benifit the most with a tune, but not like crazy, some people never tune after after a LT install, but also keep this in mind since a tune can run 300-550$ if you plan on getting a cam or heads done wait a while till thats installed and gert everything tuned once.

so here it is if you have the coin do it, if not wait a lil w/ some HP lose, and if getting H/C soon wait get all done at one.

but listen to BLACKLT1Z28 hes the man on headers
