how do i tell the difference between an ls1 intake manifold or ls6

This is a discussion on how do i tell the difference between an ls1 intake manifold or ls6 within the External Engine forums, part of the LSx Technical Help Section category; just wondering how i can tell apart an ls1 intake manifold from an ls6. not sure whats on my car ...

    how do i tell the difference between an ls1 intake manifold or ls6

    just wondering how i can tell apart an ls1 intake manifold from an ls6. not sure whats on my car right now. are they different in color?

    LS6 are flat on the bottom, and have no provision for EGR.

    how you tell between the two is that the ls1 has x bracing and the ls6 have rectangular bracing you would find this on bottom of manifold between the ports supporting them

    that's for the Ls6 intake for F-body's (2001-2002) the Zo6 Ls6 intake is a different part number: 12573572

    No. The 97-00 Vettes used an LS1 intake and they did not have EGR provisions. Be careful, as these early Corvette intakes are often sold as LS6 intakes to unsuspecting buyers. Again, as stated above, the bottom of the intake is the best visual clue when off the engine. When its on the engine, check the part number (molded on top of intake on drivers side, near #3 and #5 injectors)

    Nope, becuase SLP sold them with EGR. I run one.

    i was for sure the zo6 and ls6 manifolds were that in the same.
