Cheapest thing to make your car louder is installing a cut out - and you can keep your cat warranty, and won't have to delete any codes.

Cutouts are right after your manifolds.. so you wouldn't HAVE exhaust...

you want cheap pull your cats off the car and jam a rebarr down that catalytic honeycomb looking stuff
some water will soften it up a bit as far as sound goes ill leave it up to you to tell me ive done this on a 5.0 and it sounded decent

Just get one cutout installed under the rear seat first and see how it sounds, it'll be much louder than stock even with cats - try that first - cheap. You can add an electric later if you want, just be sure it's oriented correctly.

i have gutted my cats on my last 2 ta's on stock exhaust it does make it a little louder but not as much as you would think but it is throatier sounding at idle and when you first start it when its cold its been debated that its only a couple horse gain. i had a friend with a obdII laptop delete them all to gether. 02 sensors are $86 a piece here so its worth it to me to get rid of them all together.

i have 2 corvettes. i have dual electric cutouts on one of them and on the other one i have a muffler delete and cat delete. The electric cutouts cost me 250 bucks from quick time performance. I like the electric cutouts alot more than the cat and muffler delete. This way when you are taking your car for a cruise down the highway and want a little bit of quietness you can just close them. Very very nice. another downside is that when the cutouts are open mine are directly after the headers. i get a slight exhaust smell insisde the car. the car is obnoxiously loud though. but if you drive your car distances. do the cutouts.
the cat delete didn't make my car that much louder than with just a muffler delete.
