Thread: hot exhaust??

    hot exhaust??

    does it mean anything when 1 side of the exhaust is hotter than the other?? tonight i put my hand on the drivers side tailpipe and it was hot i could keep my hand there 4 a second or 2. the passanger side was fine warm. can the drivers side be lean??

    NORMAL...its how the exhaust flows through the tail pipes.The drivers side gets a straight shot through the muffler,the passenger side has to flow backwards into the tail pipe.So more hot exhaust moves through the drivers side making it hotter.Drive your car and forget about it.If it was lean the computer would be spitting codes like a cheap hooker!

    well i found my problem drivers side exhaust very hot lead to a bad cat. time 4 the dealer.

    yea ur right i do have pacesetters and y ready to go in. i still have a year on my warrenty so i was going to wait fuck it winter is coming i will be doing a cam also.

    Without true duals, you can't judge anything by the tailpipes.

    The stock system runs with a y-pipe, meaning both left and right meet and go to the back.
    They then split again at the muffler to show two tailpipes.
    You wouldn't be able to determine left and right bank issues with a y-pipe set-up since they merge into one pipe.

    Duals are nice though.
