I had a magnaflow welded in place of the stock muffler on my old car it sounded o.k. but not much louder than stock.

The magnaflows are almost stock quiet, and even with LTs they are still not that loud.

back before my car was cammed, i had a stall, long tubes, catless y pipe going into a magnaflow exhaust.
the magnaflow to me was just too raspy and loud.
i kept the magnaflow piping and put in a hooker aero chamber.
it got rid of the rasp and toned down the noise just a bit.
everybody has their own opinion of whats too loud or not.
not all too long ago with me, the louder the better.

Neither.
I Vote Spin Tech's. Flow and sound better than both.

well take the spin tech, stupid swirly designs and exhaust routing to give the different tone, similar to blow master on the inside actually.
take the magnaflow, straight thru design with packing around creating a quieter suttle tone but wot its not lacking in the sound. if you ask me you get the best of both worlds, one of the best damn flowing mufflers and lose all the drone and aggravating rasp upon each downshift or the loud obnoxious idle.

I couldn't be happier with my Hooker (catback)! Together with my ebay OBX headers, I get many compliments form other drivers around me.I even had a guy at the strip ask what I was running, it sounded so good, and you know how noisy that is!

My car has QTP LT's Custom Y with Flowmaster Merge and Magnaflow cat-back and it sounds awesome. I used to have TSP duals but and yes the duals where very loud but overall I think the Magnaflow has a much cleaner and throaty sound.
I will have a clip soon.

Depends....
It all depends on what type of sound you want. I just installed magnaflow and it sounds good but I come from no cats and no muffler so it really is a little bit quiet for me.
