    Hi Output Alternators

Does anyone have the GM Part Number for the 130/140 H/O Alternator? Also, any input on other brands? My 98 T/A is starting/charging ok, but the gauge lives more in the yellow zone, especially after the first 5 minutes. 92K miles
    Thanks Guys and Girls!!

Have your charging system checked, I wouldnt worry about a high amp alt unless you have a reason for it. Ie stereo, etc. I would also take a look at the battery and have it checked to make sure its holding a charge.

Everything checks ok on the draw test, but with a/c, radio on it lives in the yellow after warming up. I had a 98 3.8 loaded, and this same thing started at about 20K. After several complaints to service, they authorized a new 135 H/O GM Alternator and covered all but about 20.00 under warranty, which was for a heavier gauge cable I think. Problem never resurfaced and the car was traded in late 2000 with about 60K miles. Ran into owner several years later, 120K miles, and all he had ever had to do was headlight motors, which I had also done under extended warranty. If I have the GM part #, I can barter for the new part, and figured this would be the best solution for an upcoming problem. I will be replacing the Monsoon at some point, and being old and deaf, my stereos operate on the load side!! I plan on keeping this one, and got a real good deal, so anything I can do up front to prevent issues, I'm trying to do now. Thanks
