heat shield removal
so ive had this ongoing problem since i got the headers and y pipe installed... sounds like the pipes undearneath are bumping up against the body, its a constant sound mostly around 1500-2000 rmp...so i look under my car and started to hit things underneath and noticed a similar sound when i knocked on the heat shield...i tried putting some heat pads in and it helped when i tried to knock again...as i drove the sound was even more intense and obnoxious...so im thinking, can i just take off the heat shield all together or is that a bad idea

Take them off if they rattle. The floor will heat up a little more. If you are really concerned, you could put some heat tape around those areas

i stuffed a heat patch where the rattiling was thinking that it would take away the rumbling but it only made it worst and it makes an even more annoying sound....thanks though im going to remove it and see wat its like

You should be fine removing....... The only time we had an issue was on a few hundred mile trip. But we also had 3" pipe that was tucked up close to the flore so it wasn't were everyone could see it.
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!
