    heads/cam guys running dumps.....

I'm thinking of going this route. Just wondering exactly how loud is it with h/c cars? Would you feel comfortable taking off from a light with a cop next to you at 2am?? I've only heard 2 of these systems and both were insanely loud. Not sure if that's more muffler choice or if dumps were the culprit. I can deal with loud, just don't want cops hassling me when I'm coming home from work at night and passing through town.

I'm cam only and its loud as sin (Which I love). Mine is slightly different too as it cuts off right before the axle but I don't have any turndowns on it. Honestly 2am in the city I'd coast if I saw a copespecially with my stall. Flowmaster 1 chambers here.

2 of my buddies run dumps on their cam cars and its ridiculously loud. I really don't think you want to go that route with you driving through town at 2am.

One of the guys switched his to Flowmasters(I believe) and it wasn't bad after that. I think you would be safe with mufflers, but dumps, you will probably regret it at some point.

when I say dumps I mean a true dual system dumped at the axle. I would definitely run some type of muffler. Probably sweet thunders.

Extremely loud. I feel uncomfortable taking off from a light w/ my LM2 and LT's w/ stock cam next to a cop. Heads, cam and dumps are a sure ticket unless you are next to a cool cop.

I personally haven't been stopped yet in my car for noise but a friend of mine borrowed my car once and was stopped in it and this was during the daytime. My car can be literally heard at least a half mile away or more. I work in a prison and all the inmates have heard my car at least one time or another. Many have told me they hear it inside some buildings closer to the road. If incognito is your goal then duals/dumps is probably not the route.

I just saw the exact same setup installed on a friends Z28. He had some pacesetter headers and a true duels with 3" pipe and the sweet thunders. I actually thought his would be louder than it is.

Does he have a cam? The cam makes all the difference.

well, I'm kinda over this for now. I've decided to wait until the winter to address my exhaust issue. There's other stuff I need to get first and I want to hear some cars before I decide on what to do. I may go the GMMG route since I've been in love with that system since first hearing it on a heads/cam car about 3 years ago.

I've listened to several sound clips with different combo's but you know how that goes. Listening to it on a computer doesn't really give you accurate results. You might get the tone but the volume has to be done in person. Planning on a trip to Ohio after the install??
